A one-time national physics competition champion with a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the esteemed Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), I bring over a decade of experience in AMC and physics coaching.

 

I lead the middle school Math Club and serve as the Science Olympiad coach in the Poway School District.

Physics- F=ma

Prep course

This course prepares you for the F=ma exam, the first step in selecting the U.S. team for the International Physics Olympiad. You will learn classical mechanics through problems from past exams and explore strategies for success.

 

The F=ma course is an algebra-based, introductory physics class covering kinematics, dynamics, circular motion, gravitation, energy, momentum, simple harmonic motion, torque, and rotational motion.

Class Details

• Class Size: 6-8 students (small group setting)

• Recommended Grades: 7th to 9th

Class Breakdown

• Chapters: 8 units

• Study Hours: 72 hours total.

• F=ma Preparation: Includes an additional 36 hours 

• Total Class Hours: 120 hours in total.​

Exam

Physics- USAPho

Prep course

This course prepares you for the USAPhO, an invitation-only exam for U.S. residents. A cut-off score from the F-ma exam will determine who is invited, with around 400 participants selected for the UO.

 

This course encompasses a wide range of topics including electricity and magnetism, thermodynamics, fluids, relativity, waves, and nuclear and atomic physics.

Class Details

• Class Size: 6-8 students (small group setting)

• Recommended Grades: 8th to 10th

Class Breakdown

• Chapters: 7 units

• Study Hours: 63 hours total.

• USAPhO Preparation: Includes an additional 60 hours 

• Total Class Hours: 123 hours in total.​
